Command Line Fuzzy Finder Plugin

Just wanted to drop a quick post about a plugin I came across last week called fzf.

fzf is a plugin for the command line that enables fuzzy find searching for a majority of file types in the current working directory. It also has a split pane view for file preview right in terminal, as well as a vim integration.

If you have homebrew, you can install it quickly:

Simple Functions & Snippets

So part of what I want to do this year is write a bit more, and start making more use out of zsh/terminal. While I do have a few books on the subject to help me get a deeper grasp on what is possible, I figured an easy way to start would be to think of common problems I have and apply solutions for it.

When it comes to writing, one of the things that annoys me is that the Jekyll filenames have to be named as Y-m-d-(title).markdown format.

Tmux, Vim, Zsh, oh my (zsh)!

I decided to give myself a little challenge at the end of this year.

After Thanksgiving I decided I wanted to try something different for a change and start getting better acquainted with the shell, throw my hat in the air and start learning Vim.

Not interested in lengthy discussions over whats better, I simply chose Vim instead of Emacs because I wanted to start somewhere, and I have lightly used Vi and Nano over the years so it is a little familiar.
