Auryn: A Unified View of Your AI Coding Sessions

Over the last year, AI coding assistants have become a regular part of my development workflow. Like many developers, I have spent countless hours working with tools such as Claude Code, OpenAI Codex CLI, Gemini CLI, and GitHub Copilot CLI. These tools have become incredibly capable partners for everything from debugging difficult issues to planning new features, exploring unfamiliar codebases, reviewing architecture decisions, and generating documentation.

As these tools became more deeply integrated into my day-to-day work, I started noticing a new problem.

In my last post I mentioned releasing a small project in Rust called Hoi, a task runner meant for collaboration or personal use. Since then I was able to add a few more features, nearing a point which I consider 'feature complete':

Hoi, a command line task runner built with Rust

During covid lockdowns I had several projects in my spare time to keep me busy. One of them was teaching myself to learn how to read sheet music. Another was building an LCD screen marquee of data powered by a Raspberry Pi 3. One was to learn how to write my own programming language using the book "Crafting Interpreters" by Robert Nystrom. The book uses Java I believe as a teaching tool, but I wanted to learn Rust and do it that way.

Summer Projects

It's a long hot summer.

Given the current state of affairs, since the start of the year I have taken a lot of advantage of the free time and have been working on many different things. Learning more about Docker, testing, personal growth, cooking, anything that interests me. This has been one of the better periods in my lifetime to do so, even under the grim circumstances as why we have this amount of time on our hands.
