In line with the previous post, I have been thinking a lot about my career trajectory and how it is still ever rising. I've been doing what I do now for nearly 25 years.
I started building websites in the mid 1990's (thanks Geocities) before it was considered something you could do for a living. It became a basic job that morphed into a stellar career. It's taken me places, put food on the table, a roof over my head and the clothes on my back. At some point I did not notice that it transcended beyond that. I've written lots of code, contributed lots of open source code, authored several blog posts sharing knowledge, spoken at conferences and put on workshops. I have a passion for technology and deepen my dedication to it daily.
I've become a master of my craft. I don't know it all. I'll never know it all. The point is the constant pursuit of knowledge to turn around and apply it effectively with a high degree of quality. I don't have to pretend to be, I just am. Master of the craft.
To that end, I am working on something rather big that came up recently (unrelated to work) that has kept me busy. I still have about 8 weeks to go yet and can't say what it is yet, but will announce it when I can. It may be a little light here for the time being, but there are a handful of in depth posts coming up over on the company blog.
